In a dramatic scene, the Municipal Corporation (MC) began demolishing an under-construction restaurant near Curo Mall on the 66 ft road using bulldozers. The workers of the restaurant were taken aback by the sudden action taken by the MC. A large police force was deployed to prevent any disturbances.
However, some people became enraged and attacked a car in which a civic body official, Building Inspector Pooja Maan, was sitting, attempting to break the window. The protesters also shouted slogans against the MC. One of the workers of the restaurant said that they had not been given any notice before the demolition began.
The building has been surrounded by controversy due to allegations that it was constructed illegally and without the necessary approvals.
