An audio clip of fugitive Amritpal Singh’s uncle Harjeet Singh discussing his willingness to surrender has gone viral on social media. According to reports, the recording was made before Harjeet Singh was arrested and transferred to Dibrugarh jail in Assam. In the clip, he can be heard advising his nephew to surrender as well, stating that running away was no longer an option due to the abundance of cameras.
Harjeet Singh suggests that they should surrender like warriors and invite the media. He also expresses concern about being caught by the police and the potential embarrassment it would bring. The conversation was with another fugitive, Papalpreet Singh.

Uncle of Amritpal Singh worked in the Punjab police
Retired Punjab Police Inspector, Sukhchain Singh, who is the uncle of fugitive pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, has been accused of providing inside information about police functioning to his nephew and Amritpal’s other uncle, Harjeet Singh. However, Sukhchain Singh has denied these allegations.
Despite the police deploying a large force to capture Amritpal Singh, Sukhchain Singh believes that his nephew is already in police custody. He questioned how someone carrying only country-made weapons could escape from the police, who have access to automatic arms.
Sukhchain Singh also revealed that Amritpal Singh was seen moving around freely, including at their family’s village in Jallupur Khera. He said that Amritpal went to the gurdwara every day, and it would not be difficult for the police to arrest him from there.
Two aides of Amritpal Singh booked for extortion, criminal intimidation
Bilga police have charged Amritpal Singh and two other unidentified individuals with criminal intimidation and extortion. The complaint was filed by Gurmit Kaur, wife of ‘granthi’ Sukhwinder Singh.
According to the complaint, on March 18, three masked individuals forced their way into the gurdwara Singh Sabha in Sheikhupur village, locked Kaur’s family in a room at gunpoint, and took away her son’s motorcycle, turban, and shawl. Parwan Singh, Kaur’s son, recognized Amritpal Singh and was intimidated into helping them cross the Sutlej river.
Amritpal Singh directed Parwan to leave his motorcycle at Darapur canal before taking them to the Sutlej via Meonwal village. Bilga police Station House Officer (SHO) Mohindar Pal stated that the trio has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 386, 342, 506, and 34 of the IPC, as well as Sections 25, 27, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act.
