Samsung Pauses One UI 7 Update Amid Bug Reports in Galaxy S24 Devices
Samsung has put a temporary halt to the global rollout of its One UI 7 update, which began last week for several flagship models, including the Galaxy S24 series. While the company officially confirmed the decision, it has not disclosed specific reasons behind the move.
In a statement to Android Authority, Samsung said the pause was to ensure users receive the “best possible experience”, and promised to announce a revised rollout date soon.
According to industry insiders and leakers, the suspension may be tied to a serious bug discovered in devices in South Korea, prompting Samsung to halt the update worldwide as a precautionary measure.
The One UI 7 update is based on Android 15 and includes a host of new AI-powered features, intended for devices such as the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. The update officially began rolling out on April 7, though it was already seen as delayed, considering that Android 15 has been available to developers for over seven months.
Samsung’s newest Galaxy S25 series, which launched with One UI 7 pre-installed, is unaffected by the bug and will continue to operate normally.
Meanwhile, Google is expected to unveil Android 16 in June, putting additional pressure on manufacturers like Samsung to deliver stable updates for existing users.
As users await the rescheduled rollout, Samsung continues internal testing to avoid any potential disruption to the user experience across global markets.
