India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has condemned the recent incident in which pro-Khalistan supporters pulled down the Indian tricolour at the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom. He said that India would not accept differential standards of security and accused the UK of failing to meet its obligation to provide security to diplomats.
Speaking at an event organized by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, the Minister highlighted the importance of respecting the embassy or consulate of another country and ensuring that diplomats are able to do their work safely. Jaishankar also cautioned against the misuse of human rights and civil liberties to espouse radicalism, violence and terrorism.
