Indian Americans show support for India at San Francisco Consulate Rally

A large number of Indian Americans rallied in front of the Indian Consulate in San Francisco to show support for India after it was vandalized by pro-Khalistan protesters earlier this week. The protesters had attacked and damaged the consulate and had installed two so-called Khalistani flags inside the premises.

Indian Americans came out in large numbers to condemn the separatist Sikhs’ destructive activities and show solidarity with India. They chanted slogans in favor of India and waived the tri-color flag. The local police were present in significant numbers to prevent any untoward incidents.

The rise in anti-India activities in Canada, Australia, and the UK by Khalistan supporters who have vandalized some Hindu temples in these countries is concerning. India has lodged a strong protest with the US Charge d’Affaires in Delhi and asked the US government to take appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

There are about 4.2 million Indian American/Indian-origin people residing in the US, with persons of Indian origin constituting the third largest Asian ethnic group in the US.
