Pakistan Warns of Imminent Indian Military Incursion After Deadly Kashmir Terror Attack
Islamabad, Pakistan – On Monday, April 28, 2025, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif raised concerns about an imminent military incursion by India following the deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir last week. The April 22 terror attack killed 26 civilians, sparking widespread outrage in India and leading to heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
India’s Allegations and Diplomatic Fallout
The terror attack, which targeted tourists in Kashmir, has intensified the long-standing hostility between India and Pakistan. India has accused Pakistan of supporting the terrorists responsible for the attack, marking the deadliest attack on civilians in years. Pakistan, however, has vehemently denied the accusations and called for a neutral investigation into the incident.
In response to the attack, India has taken several drastic measures, including:
- Downgrading diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
- Suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, which governs water usage between the two countries.
- Closing the main land border crossing and withdrawing visas for Pakistani nationals.
Pakistan’s Retaliation
In retaliation, Islamabad has:
- Expelled Indian diplomats and military advisers.
- Cancelled visas for Indian nationals.
- Closed its airspace to Indian flights.
Defence Minister’s Statement
In an exclusive interview with Reuters, Defence Minister Asif confirmed that Pakistan’s military had been placed on high alert following the attack. He stated that the military had briefed the government on the possibility of an Indian military incursion. Although he refrained from revealing the specifics, Asif emphasized that strategic decisions had already been made to counter potential threats.
Asif also made it clear that Pakistan would only resort to its nuclear arsenal if there was a direct threat to the nation’s existence.
India Bans Pakistani YouTube Channels
Further escalating tensions, the Indian government has banned over a dozen Pakistani YouTube channels, accusing them of spreading provocative content. Among the banned channels are Dawn, Samaa TV, ARY News, Bol News, Raftar, Geo News, and Suno News.
As both nations brace for further developments, the international community watches closely, fearing that the already fragile peace between India and Pakistan could collapse.
