A woman has been arrested by the Haryana Police for allegedly giving shelter to “Waris Punjab De” chief Amritpal Singh and his associate Papalpreet Singh in Kurukshetra district’s Shahbad town. Baljit Kaur, a resident of Sidharth Colony, was taken into custody and handed over to the Punjab Police. The arrest suggests that the pro-Khalistan preacher might have fled Punjab.
According to Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria, the woman was in touch with Papalpreet Singh for the past two years, and initial investigation revealed that he had stayed in her house on March 19. Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh stayed in Shahbad for two days, using a scooter bike to travel from Ludhiana to Shahbad, according to IGP Headquarters Sukhchain Singh Gill. The police are interrogating Baljit Kaur to gather more information on the case.
