Jalandhar Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor; Two Suspects Booked
JALANDHAR: Authorities are investigating a serious allegation made by a 14-year-old girl who reported being raped by two individuals near Jalandhar. The Tibba Road police have filed a case against Rahul and Sunil, both residents of Banga village in Nawanshahr, under Sections 64 and 351 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the girl’s statement, she befriended Rahul, the brother of a woman named Nisha who lives in her neighborhood. The complainant stated that she used to communicate with Rahul over the phone. In August 2024, Rahul reportedly visited his sister Nisha and allegedly called the victim to nearby fields during the night, where the first instance of rape is said to have occurred.
The victim further alleged that on March 1, 2025, Rahul contacted her again. When she declined to meet him, he allegedly threatened her with severe consequences. Feeling scared, she agreed to meet him at Basti Chowk. Upon arrival, she found Rahul on a motorcycle, accompanied by his friend Sunil on another bike.
The girl reported that the two then took her to a hotel near Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, where they allegedly raped her again. She also stated that the suspects threatened her following this incident.
Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations.
