Punjab Government Withdraws Security of AAP MLA Raman Arora; BJP-RSS Event Under Scrutiny
In a surprising development, the Punjab government has withdrawn the security cover of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora, who represents the Jalandhar Central constituency. Arora confirmed the withdrawal on Tuesday and expressed shock over the decision.
“I have not been given any official reason. As of now, I don’t have a single security personnel with me. The government must clarify why this has happened,” Arora told reporters.
The withdrawal was executed on Monday night when Arora’s security head was instructed to return to his commandant, along with the rest of the security team.
Although no official explanation has been issued, party insiders believe the move may be linked to Arora’s attendance at an event organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jalandhar this March. The event was held to commemorate the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and reportedly did not sit well with the AAP leadership.
Efforts to get a comment from AAP’s Punjab state president Aman Arora were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, party spokesperson Harchand Singh Barsat claimed he had no knowledge of the situation.
The incident has stirred political speculation and raises questions about internal friction within the AAP over individual members’ participation in politically sensitive events.
