New Delhi, May 13 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning to Pakistan on Tuesday, asserting that any future provocations—whether terrorist or military—would face decisive retaliation by India on its own terms. Speaking to Indian Air Force personnel at Adampur Air Base in Punjab, a target during last week’s military confrontation, Modi highlighted India’s readiness and resolve through the successful execution of Operation Sindoor.
Referring to the four-day conflict, Modi praised the synergy of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and claimed India had “called Pakistan’s nuclear bluff”, achieving a tactical and strategic win.
Modi detailed how Indian forces, using indigenous Akash missiles, Russian-made S-400 systems, drones, and advanced tech, neutralized nine terrorist bases deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in under 25 minutes.
“Our military didn’t just attack, they displayed restraint and professionalism by avoiding civilian casualties—even though Pakistan used civilian aircraft as shields by not closing its airspace,” he added.
The PM revealed that over 100 terrorists were eliminated in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 civilians dead. Following India’s air and ground strikes, Pakistan retaliated with heavy artillery, loitering munitions, and drones targeting civilian areas in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. India responded by hitting Pakistani military infrastructure, including air defense radars and communication centers in strategic locations like Rawalpindi, Chaklala, and Sargodha.
Although a ceasefire was agreed upon Saturday evening, Pakistan violated it within hours by deploying drones into Indian airspace, prompting high alert status in northern states.
Meanwhile, India reaffirmed its policy that Jammu and Kashmir is a bilateral matter between India and Pakistan, rejecting any third-party intervention. Foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that no trade discussions occurred during India-US communications amid the conflict.
India will also move the UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee to designate The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, as a global terrorist group, based on evidence shared with the United Nations over the last two years.
Jaiswal emphasized that India’s operations were entirely conventional, and no nuclear activity had taken place—debunking speculation circulating in regional media.
