Srinagar, May 15, 2025 – In a powerful address at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has redefined India’s counter-terrorism policy, stating that any attack on Indian soil will now be treated as an act of war.
Speaking to Indian Army personnel, Rajnath Singh described Operation Sindoor as the biggest anti-terror operation in India’s history, calling it a historic response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. “This wasn’t just retaliation, but a declaration that terrorists and their handlers are not safe anywhere,” he said.
🛡️ Strategic Clarity: Terrorism = War
The Defence Minister warned that Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail has failed to deter India, stating, “If Islamabad continues to shelter anti-India groups, it will pay a heavier price.” He further questioned the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal and demanded IAEA supervision over its nuclear stockpile.
“Pakistan must stop deceiving the world and harboring terrorists. Talks, if any, will only be on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK),” he added.
⚔️ Operation Sindoor: Retaliation With Precision
Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam massacre, involving precision airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. Singh said, “Terrorists targeted Indians based on faith; we targeted them for their crimes. That is the difference in our dharma.”
He commended the Armed Forces’ courage, lauding their pinpoint strikes that demolished bunkers and terror hideouts across the border.
🇮🇳 A New Military Era Under Modi
Reaffirming India’s defense readiness, Rajnath Singh said the government is focused on modernizing the military, with new-generation equipment like missile shields, drones, and smart rifles being produced domestically.
“Today, India supports IMF funding while Pakistan seeks IMF loans,” Singh remarked, emphasizing India’s rising global stature.
He concluded with a tribute to fallen heroes of Operation Sindoor and a pledge to eliminate terrorism completely, stating, “India’s sovereignty is sacred—any threat will be crushed with iron resolve.”
Dignitaries present included Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, J&K CM Omar Abdullah, and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
