New Delhi — May 7, 2025: In an unprecedented move under Operation Sindoor, India executed nine coordinated precision strikes, including four deep inside Pakistan’s Punjab—marking the first Indian military action in Pakistan’s heartland since the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, after 54 years.

The strikes, carried out between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM on Wednesday, were in response to a string of terror attacks in India including 26/11 Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri, and most recently, the Pahalgam massacre on April 22.

Targets were carefully selected from a list of 21 terror hubs. The attacks were synchronized for maximum surprise and minimal detection, with real-time confirmation of target destruction through drone surveillance.

🔥 Strikes Inside Pakistan (Punjab):

  1. Markaz Taiba – Muridke (LeT HQ):
Terror training ground linked to 26/11; Ajmal Kasab and David Headley were trained here.
  2. Markaz Subhan Allah – Bahawalpur (JeM HQ):
Recruitment and training facility visited by JeM chief Masood Azhar.
  3. Sarjal Camp – Sialkot:
Terrorists who killed J&K Police in March 2025 were trained and launched from here.
  4. Mehmoona Joya Camp – Sialkot:
HM control centre for reviving terrorism in Jammu. Pathankot attack was planned here.

⚔️ Strikes in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoJK):

  1. Sawai Nala Camp – Muzaffarabad (LeT):
Origin of the modules behind the Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam terror attacks.
  2. Syedna Bilal Camp – Muzaffarabad (JeM):
Training centre for jungle warfare, weapons, and explosives.
  3. Gulpur Camp – Kotli (LeT):
Base for Rajouri-Poonch operations. Frequently visited by 26/11 mastermind Lakhvi.
  4. Abbas Camp – Kotli (LeT):
Suicide bomber training base with capacity for 50 recruits.
  5. Barnala Camp – Bhimber:
Specializes in jungle warfare, IED-making, and arms training.

🧭 Women Officers Lead the Global Briefing

Breaking from tradition, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi (Army) and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (IAF) were selected to brief the world on the operation:

  • Col. Qureshi: A decorated officer from the Corps of Signals, known for leading India’s contingent at ASEAN’s Force 18 in 2016.
  • Wg Cdr. Singh: Veteran helicopter pilot with over 2,500 flight hours, currently at IAF’s Media Ops Directorate.

Col. Qureshi unveiled a map of 21 terror camps, revealing Pakistan’s vast network of recruitment, indoctrination, and launch pads for terror.

🚨 Strategic Shift

This operation marks a new doctrine of assertive retaliation, crossing the International Boundary into Pakistan’s core—not just PoJK—signaling India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.
