Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah recently inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple major development projects worth ₹708 crore in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat. The event also included a benefit distribution program of the Department of Posts, underscoring the government’s continued commitment to public welfare and infrastructure development.
In his address, Shri Amit Shah highlighted the remarkable progress India has made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He said that since assuming office, PM Modi has steered the country’s growth along the lines of Gujarat’s development model, propelling India forward in every field and laying strong foundations for a developed nation.
Shri Amit Shah also spoke extensively about India’s enhanced security posture, emphasizing the transformation in the country’s defense capabilities since 2014. He pointed out that prior to PM Modi’s tenure, India faced frequent terror attacks and cross-border infiltrations, often resulting in tragic loss of lives and widespread insecurity. However, the government’s response was lackluster then, lacking the resolve to effectively counter these threats.
The Union Home Minister underlined that since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, India has witnessed three significant terror attacks—the Uri attack, the Pulwama attack, and most recently, the Pahalgam attack, all orchestrated by Pakistan-sponsored terrorist groups. Each time, India responded decisively and with overwhelming force, earning international recognition and instilling fear in adversaries.
Speaking about India’s strategic military responses, Shri Shah detailed the sequence of actions following these attacks. After the Uri attack, India conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the border. The Pulwama attack prompted retaliatory airstrikes, sending a strong warning to terrorist groups. The latest Pahalgam terror attack was met with an unprecedented counter-operation called Operation Sindoor.
Shri Shah explained that Operation Sindoor was a meticulously planned and executed anti-terror campaign in which Indian forces went 100 kilometers inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and destroyed the headquarters of infamous terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Nine key terrorist hideouts were razed to the ground, disrupting terror infrastructure significantly.
The operation has received global attention and praise from security experts worldwide for its precision and strategic brilliance. By naming the campaign ‘Operation Sindoor’, Prime Minister Modi sent a powerful cultural message—sindoor being a symbol of Indian tradition and the sanctity of the nation’s women. This naming symbolizes the nation’s commitment to protecting its people and upholding its values.
Shri Amit Shah also praised the valor and dedication of the Indian armed forces, crediting them for successfully thwarting multiple missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan. The advanced air defense system, perfected under PM Modi’s leadership, ensured that no missile or drone struck Indian soil, safeguarding the country’s citizens.
Further, the Union Home Minister noted that after neutralizing over 100 terrorists, India faced fresh provocations on the western border on 8 May. In response, the Indian Air Force crippled Pakistani airbases at 15 strategic locations, dealing a heavy blow to their offensive capability. This was yet another demonstration of India’s growing military strength and strategic dominance.
Shri Shah highlighted that India’s response has not just been about military might but also about sending a clear deterrent message to international terrorist masterminds. The echo of India’s strikes resonates as a warning: any aggression or terror against Indian soil will be met with swift and overwhelming retaliation.
The Home Minister concluded by acknowledging the strong political will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has been a cornerstone of India’s security and development agenda. The nation salutes the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force for their unmatched courage and professionalism.
Shri Amit Shah expressed immense pride in the country’s achievements and in PM Modi’s leadership, describing him as a son of Gujarat and Bharat Mata who has made the nation both proud and secure. He reiterated that the legacy of Operation Sindoor will be remembered as a defining moment in India’s fight against terrorism.
The development projects inaugurated in Gandhinagar signal ongoing progress in Gujarat’s capital, ensuring better infrastructure, public services, and benefits to citizens. The combination of internal development and external security strengthens India’s position as a rising global power.
