7-Year Manhunt Ends: Proclaimed Offenders Captured in Jalandhar – Police Finally Close in on Fugitives

On Monday, the city police apprehended two proclaimed offenders (brothers), Daman and Rahul, who were wanted in a case of criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt. They are residents of New Gandhi Nagar and were living in Suchi Pind, Rama Mandi at the time of their arrest.

The police stated that the brothers were wanted in a case registered against them under sections 323, 324, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Rama Mandi police station in 2015 and have been on the run for the past seven years. They were declared proclaimed offenders by a local court under sections 82 and 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on January 5, 2019. They were arrested from their current address on Monday following a tip-off, according to a police official.
