Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Shakes Japan; No Tsunami Alert Issued

On Tuesday, northern Japan was shaken by an earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of 6.1, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The quake’s epicenter was located in the northern coastal region of Iwate Prefecture. The agency further clarified that no tsunami warning has been issued following the tremor.
